Sinclair Knight Merz is a global consulting firm focused on continually developing their people and in particular their leadership capacity to meet the current and future needs of the organisation. SKM’s strategic planning identified need for leadership development. They approached Seed Consulting and embarked on a leadership development strategy that cascaded throughout organisation with one cleverly designed approach. This learning program has been facilitated globally and translated into Spanish for implementation in South America.

Team Case Study

Our team had been formed from the merger of two organisations, and as a result, there was a level of unfamiliarity with team members, which led to situations of mistrust and disharmony. As a result, we wanted a “team day” for the team to get to know each other with the view of creating a more harmonious team.

Prior to our team development, Ann had only received a brief overview of the team situation - however on the day Ann was very astute in understanding the dynamics of a team and was very effective in getting to the heart of team issues. At the same time, Ann gained the confidence and respect of the group - this made for a more productive experience and definitely for a more productive output for the team.

One of the techniques Ann employed was the use of the Genos Emotional Intelligence process. Through Ann’s relaxed demeanor she encouraged the team to be honest with themselves when completing the process, and also to their team members when discussing the output. This honestly resulted in a group of people that better understood themselves and also to better understand their team mates.

Ann had a huge impact on the team, and the fact that the team is truly a TEAM today is something that Ann should be proud of.

Seed Consulting was invited to design the Ernst & Young Global Manager Program. With an overall employee base of 110,000, approximately 8000 new managers complete this milestone Management program each year. The program is designed as a consistent worldwide approach to Management Development. Seed Consulting was instrumental in the concept discussions, design activities and development of the detailed facilitator packages used around the world.

Ann's significant experience base was recognised in Seed being requested to assist with the design of the Ernst & Young Global Manager Program in 2004. With an overall employee base of 110,000, approximately 8000 new managers complete this milestone Management program each year. The program is designed as a consistent worldwide approach to Management Development. Ann was instrumental in the concept discussions, design activities and development of the detailed facilitator packages used around the world.
